  • Flight Instructor course

    Aim of the course
    To train aircraft license holders to the level of competence needed for the profession of a Flight Instructor.

    Entry Requirements
    – Minimum age: 18 years
    – As the other applicable entry requirements are quite complex and individual-based, we advise you to contact us personally.

    Content of the course
    – 125 hours theoretical instruction
    – 30 hours flight training on a Cessna 150/152/172
    – After completion a skill test

    In addition to the FI(A) course, Avion Training also offers a FI(A) Night course (this qualification is needed to be able to give VFR Night instruction). The entry requirement for this course is possession of a valid FI(A) rating.

    Credits
    In case of present theoretical or practical experience we might be able to offer you a reduced course for a reduced price.

  • Flight Instructor Refresher Seminar course

    General
    In case of revalidation of an FI certificate, the holder must fulfill two out of three requirements mentioned in FCL.940.FI FI. This seminar can be used as one of two requirements to revalidate the FI certificate. If an FI certificate of an instructor has lapsed, the applicant must fulfill two requirements to renew his certificate, of which the attendance of an instructor refresher seminar is one.

    Aim of the course
    To train an instructor to a higher standard of instruction. In this way an instructor is able to provide a high quality of service to the industry and the customer.

    Entry Requirements
    Holder of FI(A) and/or IRI certificate

    Content of the course
    The content of the refresher seminar will be selected from the following items:
    – New and/or current rules/regulations, with emphasis on knowledge of Part-FCL and operational requirements;
    – Teaching and learning philosophies and methods;
    – Instructional techniques;
    – The role of the instructor;
    – National regulations (as applicable);
    – Human factors;
    – Flight safety, incident and accident prevention;
    – Airmanship;
    – Legal aspects and enforcement procedures;
    – Navigational skills, including new/current radio navigation aids
    – Teaching instrument flying;
    – Weather-related topics, including methods of distribution
    – Any additional topic selected by the Dutch CAA.

  • Multi Crew Cooperation Instructor course (MCC-I)

    Aim of the course
    To apply the core instructor competencies acquired during the teaching and learning training to MCC training and to get the ability to instruct a pilot in MCC.

    Entry Requirements
    An applicant for an MCCI certificate shall:
    – Hold or have held a CPL, MPL or ATPL in the appropriate aircraft category.
    – Have at least 1500 hours of flying experience in aircraft as a pilot on multi-pilot operations.
    – Hold or have held an FI, TRI, CRI, IRI or SFI certificate.

    Content of the course
    An applicant for an MCCI certificate shall:
    – Technical training related to the type of FSTD (B200 or B737NG) for which the applicant wishes to instruct.
    – 3 hours of practical instruction on the relevant FNPT II MCC (B200) and/or FFS (B737 NG), under the supervision of a TRI, SFI or MCCI.

  • Type Rating Instructor (TR-I) and Synthetic Flight Instructor course (SFI)

    Aim of the course
    To train aircraft license holders to the level of competence as defined below, adequate for a TRI (SFI and restricted TRI).

    Entry Requirements
    An applicant for a restricted TRI certificate shall:
    – Hold a CPL, MPL or ATPL pilot license on the applicable aircraft category.
    – Have completed 1500 hours flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot aircraft; and
    – Have completed, within the 12 months preceding the date of application, 30 route sectors, including takeoffs and landings, as PIC or co-pilot on the applicable aircraft type, of which 15 sectors may be completed in an FFS representing that type.
    – Holds a valid type rating for the applicable type.
    – The entry requirements for SFI are as stated below:
    – Hold or have held a CPL, MPL or ATPL in the appropriate aircraft category
    -Have completed the proficiency check for the issue of the specific aircraft type rating in an FFS representing the applicable type, within the 12 months preceding the application; and

    Additionally, for an SFI(A) for multi-pilot aeroplanes, have:
    – At least 1500 hours flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot aeroplanes or powered lift, as applicable;
    – Completed as a pilot or as an observer, within the 12 months preceding the application, at least:

    – 3 route sectors on the flight deck of the applicable aircraft type; or
    – 2 line-orientated flight training-based simulator sessions conducted by qualified flight crew on the flight deck of the applicable type. These simulator sessions shall include 2 flights of at least 2 hours each between 2 different aerodromes, and the associated pre-flight planning and de-briefing.

    Course outline
    The training course consists of three parts:
    Part 1: teaching and learning instruction in compliance with AMC1 FCL.920
    Part 2: technical theoretical knowledge instruction (technical training)
    Part 3: flight instruction
    24 hours theoretical knowledge ground school
    12 Full Flight Simulator sessions
    1 Full Flight Simulator AOC (Assessment of competence) test

  • Multi Pilot Licence Instructor course (MPLI)

    Aim of the course
    The objective of the MPL(A) Instructors Training course is to train applicants to deliver training in accordance with the features of a competency based approach to training and assessment to instruct candidates on MPL courses

    Entry Requirements
    Hold a valid TRI/SFI/STI/FI/MCCI Rating or Authorization.

    Course outline
    An applicant shall receive and practice theory related to the duties of an MPL-I on the applicable type of aircraft. The applicant will become familiar with TEM and CBT briefing and training techniques, use of video, etc.

    Duration
    3 days

    Credits for previous experience
    The standard training program may be adjusted according to an MPL-I applicant’s previous experience

  • Class Rating Multi Engine Instructor

    Aim of the course
    To train aircraft license holders to the level of competence adequate to a class rating instructor multi-engine.

    Entry Requirements
    – At least 500 hours of flight experience on aircraft
    – At least 30 hours of experience as PIC on the particular aircraft
    – Medical Class 2 or higher

    Content of the course
    – 25 hours theoretical training and flight briefings
    – 8 hours flight training (1.5 hours simulator, the rest on a Piper Seminole or Piper Seneca)
    – Course completion skill test
